Get to Know the Baltic Seaside Resort Boltenhagen |
|
|
|
The beautiful seaside resort
Boltenhagen is located between Lübeck and Wismar in
western Mecklenburg. Here, the Baltic Sea is especially
clear and the beach is very clean and white. Another
advantage is the healthy climate on the Baltic Sea
coast. As early as in 1803 people started bathing here.
The earl of Bothmer from the town of Klütz put a bathing
cart in Boltenhagen. |

|
|
|
So it is no surprise
that Boltenhagen is the third oldest Baltic seaside resort in
Germany. The place developed very quickly. The famous promenade and
the gardens with many attractions, restaurants and guest houses were
built in the 19th century. Many well-known people were attracted by
the seaside resort. One of them was the Mecklenburg regional poet
Fritz Reuter. |

|
 |
|
Today Boltenhagen is
just as beautiful as before and has kept its charm in contrast to
many places with giant hotels. The pier, which is 290 m long, is a
must for all visitors as well as the gardens, which were restored
and redesigned with loving care in 2003 and reopened on the occasion
of the 200th anniversary. Modern hotels and holiday flats offer an
accomodation for young and old. |

|
But you can also do
other things than swimming or sunbathing. Relaxing and having fun
are high on the list of priorities. A trip with a carriage in the
surrounding area, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, cycling,
diving, and boat trips are other alternatives. You can also go on a
trip to the Hanseatic cities Wismar and Lübeck or to the capital of
Mecklenburg West-Pomerania Schwerin. |
| |
|
|
|
Boltenhagen and its
friendly people are waiting for you! The high standard of
Boltenhagen guarantees a relaxing and exciting holiday at the same
time.
Boltenhagen is inviting, friendly and varied also regarding its
shopping facilities. |
